How to start playing pickleball in Cebu
A beginner’s guide: the gear, the five rules that matter, and how to find, book and fill a court in Metro Cebu. Numbers from DinkedIn’s court directory as of 25 October 2026.
1. Get a paddle and balls
You need a paddle and a few outdoor or indoor pickleballs (plastic balls with holes). Some venues rent paddles, so you can try before you buy; ask when you book. Wear court shoes with flat soles, not running shoes.
2. Learn five rules
Serve underhand and crosscourt. Let the ball bounce once on each side before anyone volleys (the two-bounce rule). Never volley while standing in the kitchen, the 7 feet next to the net. In doubles only the serving team scores. Games go to 11, won by 2. The full rules are on the DinkedIn rules page.
3. Find a court near you
DinkedIn lists 193 courts with rates and booking links across Metro Cebu. The median court costs ₱400 an hour for the whole court, so four players pay about ₱100 each. The cheapest right now: Pulangbato Pickle Play (₱100), Aulga Sports Gym (Aulga Night Dinkers) (₱125) and Belmont Village Pickleball Court (₱150).
4. Book the court
Courts are booked by the hour. 28 venues take bookings online (Onda Fit, Sports360, Courtogo or their own site); the rest book through Facebook Messenger or a phone call. 9 accept walk-ins. Book a day or two ahead for evenings, when courts fill up.
5. Try open play
Open play is drop-in pickleball: you pay per player (often ₱150 to ₱300) and get rotated into games with others at your level. It is the easiest way to meet players when you do not have a group of four yet. DinkedIn lists drop-in sessions by court.
6. Play with the same group
Once you have a regular crew, a DinkedIn group keeps game day simple: RSVPs, who is in, a fair paddle queue and scores that build everyone’s record. It is free.

- How much does it cost to play pickleball in Cebu?

- Do I need a partner to play pickleball?
- No. Join an open play session and you will be rotated into doubles games with other players.
